KGF is the most sensational, breathtaking action-fueled unique Indian movie I have lately seen.
★★★★★ Production quality
★★★★★ Story
★★★★★ Scene setups
★★★★★ Character setup/buildup
During childhood, we had this question in our English examination paper,
Q. “Write an essay for or against whether a movie/cinema must be made to take the viewer's mind off the real world or should it reflect the real world.
I have had many times answered this question however, I can never properly take for or against it because even the greatest science fiction movies reflect the human world, Idk whether the stories of KGF chapters are true or not, I would love to believe that it is. But, yeah, it takes our mind off the real world with its action scenes while it has roots in the real world- reflecting it, eg. Merit, Hard Work, Nepotism, Politics, etc.
The point here is that this movie shows an exaggerated version of what a person from extremely humble beginnings does if he has a goal. ( I don’t like violence though, love martial arts and by exaggerated I mean the process of conquest, not that one could reach the top. Anyone can reach the fu*king top! )
What no one sees: He became a proficient fighter, built an extremely great body, learned- business, leadership, orating skills, etc. He also built a vast network of people and had information on the latest technology and developments going on around the world. This movie also portrays amazing branding, color, and design. Names like Rocky, KGF, and colors Red, white and black are always the most dope, and the overall design- font choice, scenes colors, and change of color during the back and forth from past to present and action mode is very distinct and clear.
I think this is the closest Indian production has come to creating a superhero movie after Bahubali, ig.
This movie also throws a lot of light on the mothership and in fact shows what could be the result of a strong mothership, after all a mother is the closest person to most.
This made me wonder what my mother wanted me to become. It's always at the back of my mind: “A good person, who helps others'', and with this thought I want to commit to trying to help myself and others.
The story of K.G.F. is a story about a place KGF and its last conqueror, it starts off showing a small boy who loses his mother, is devastated but is courageous, he moves to Mumbai to become rich and powerful, quoting, “Powerful people come from powerful places”, and there he gives himself the name “Rocky”, a brand. He refuses to take people’s shit, is always ready to take action, and chooses an unconventional path to reach his goals.
Over the years with his hard work and wit, he always wins over the people around him, he is ruthless, badass, bold, and is never afraid to walk like a lion on a hunt rather than being in a herd.
He got involved in import-export and always took power by brute force. However, he always keeps his mind open and understands the game, he thinks and comprehends everything as a game of chess. Although not represented as the most intelligent, his intellect plays an important role in his actions!
He is hired to assassinate a man of power, the existing ruler of KGF, but he misses it upon understanding the power of that man, he again follows the rule, “Powerful people come from powerful places” and goes into the lion’s den where again he wins over people and finally assassinated the powerful man he was tasked with assassination but he takes over his power upon himself and becoming the king of a powerful place, KGF and is supported by the people he freed from the previous tyrant and they become his army who he then trains to make an undefeatable army while himself residing as their god.
Soon, there are many developments seen in K.G.F. including technological development, and the productivity and extraction of gold increased manifolds, along with creating an impenetrable empire, defining a new quote, “Powerful people make places powerful.”
There are many resistances that he overcomes in his path ahead and finally chooses to die in the Indian Ocean by provoking the Indian Navy, taking away all the gold with him to the depths of the ocean.
There is a lot this movie has to offer, but what you take matters. What we take always matters, when life offers shit, do you just accept the shit or do you want to change the shit?
Best wishes,
CGR signing off.
