Hey, there. This is CGR and welcome to my blog,
Today's topic is my story of becoming healthier.
First things first,
I am not a health expert but an individual on the quest of exploring the best and most healthy way to live.
KeyPoints:
Weight Loss - Calorie In | Calorie Out
Health - Consuming Nutrients | Building Strength | Increasing Fitness
Beauty - Body Shape | Symmetry
Quick Tips:
- Chew 32 times.
- Eat Green Vegetables as much as you can.
- Fruit/Nuts are the only good sources for sweets. (No juices)
- Refrain from Sweet/Fried/Processed.
- Try replacing Animal products with Plant-based. Animal Milk→ Plant-based milk.
- Keep learning, and improving slowly.
The Story
I have a very cliche beginning of the story, however, I’ll repeat it.
I am from a ‘fat family’, where no one cares about their health and most have a big belly and are obese.
The more you eat, the more healthy you are seen (Things are changing now…)
Obviously, with bad food habits, I lost my health and put on weight, very early. For as long as I remember I was overweight.
Until I changed it for myself.
The Weight-Loss Journey:
It was April 2018.
I had given my 10th Boards.
I had always remained a coward/overweight/shy/low all my life but I was not happy with it.
There was nothing good going on in my life- health, wealth, studies, relationships, family nothing.
I wanted to change. I was frustrated with the normal life/common life that I was having.
I cannot talk to a girl, I cannot speak in front of a class, I was fat, I never had a relationship, and I didn’t have deep friendships. On top of all that, I had lost a very important person.
I wanted control, I needed control!
I always knew I was intelligent, but never I was able to present myself.
The first category for change for me was my health!
“Once your mindset changes nothing remains the same.”
“When you really want something, the whole universe conspires to help you”
Mindset:
I found some motivational videos on youtube and at that time I used to think that these things are bullshit ( Why would a person need another person to motivate/ lecture one? )
However, I found one person that sounded very authentic and real. His name is Sandeep Maheshwari. I started watching his videos on loop.
I learned how important it is to listen and learn from a person you would like to be like. And most of us only get to listen to people around us (who aren’t what you would love to be like).
Those videos changed my mindset/my beliefs/me.
Earlier I had the belief that people get fat, and only the actors, athletes, etc. are the ones who could escape it, only after working very hard.
Now, I realized whatever a human being puts his mind on is possible and being healthy is a choice.
2 Month Journey:
I got 3 months of vacation after the 10th board, of which I invested 1 month in my mindset and then I made a habit of visiting the park daily at 4 am.
Eating:
Like most, I knew what things were extremely unhealthy, I just removed them completely.
I just ate green vegetables, pulses, salad, and a few chapatis for months.
I chew 32x for digestion, which I learned from Tedx by Sandeep Maheshwari.
No Sugar/ No market food/ No Snacks etc...
Exercise:
Cardio: Started from 5.000 steps and was jogging around 20,000 steps within a few weeks.
Muscle: Started with 10 pushups and was doing 5 rounds of 20 pushups within a few weeks.
That’s what I did! Within 2 months I had lost around 23 kgs of weight. From 95 kgs. to 72kgs.
Is this replicable?
Maybe.
What propelled me? - I had to change.
Magic Ingredient:
I found 1 magic ingredient that I would say made it all possible.
It’s MUSIC.
I found an mp3 that I loved to listen to and that kept me motivated at the same time.
Final Words:
I would say that I was hard on change.
But also, lucky, when I was bringing massive changes, my family was not at home(for months) to stop me or become a hindrance.
I’ll say my willpower became very strong then and the universe helped me a lot.
Down the line:
My weight loss journey got me started on a never-ending quest to become the healthiest version of me possible.
After losing weight I heard that regaining weight is also a thing. But I knew that it wouldn’t happen to me.
Since then I have been getting healthier and stronger.
Future Endeavors:
I like moving, I like Physical.
I like Martial-Arts. I would get involved in it.
I am making plans to keep involved in some fun movements.
I am also thinking about carrying weight (from Milo of Croton).
Let’s see where it goes. I’ll keep you updated.
Be Awesome! AASAAN HAI!
Best Wishes,
CGR.
